I love the "Blitz Off" type sounds heard in much of Klonoa's soundtrack. Anyway it's interesting how much more sadistic Joka is than Ghadius and I have a tiny idea about why that might be the case. I believe Ghadius to be a lost soul, he was simply given a bad hand in life and couldn't move past it, he started seeing everyone around him as evil and thought it'd be better to just end it all, he seems like someone who could have been helped if he was found earlier. Joka on the other hand seems like a force of nature to me, he looks very similar to the moos which makes me think Joka is just a remarkably powerful moo that developed such intelligence and sentience due to the power he accumulated. It's also implied that Joka was in love with Ghadius or at least deeply invested in him, why else would his last words be his master's name? Being a nightmare I think Joka's only real intentions were to destroy everything to begin with. Perhaps Ghadius got personal with him and told him about how his life went, too bad it was Joka, somebody who would only encourage Ghadius to commit to evil. These are all just ideas though, nothing concrete but it also makes sense to me seeing how Joka changes into his true form alongside other moos, whereas Ghadius has no other form.

Imagine a Klonoa third game, but rahter than taking place in jungles, we get a dreams with future-like places. Kinda like Jak and Daxter sequels. Maybe high chance we'll get jungle tracks for klonoa :3

Oooh. Just listened to it at 0.75 speed. The layers of sound at play are just amazing. Wish I could play it like that in my car.

Despite the title being "Melancholy Soldier" this track is quite cheerful and plays fairly often towards the start of the game, most notably it plays when speaking to the Jugpot soldier which is likely who this track is referring to.

That opening sounds like the opening for Tidus theme from Final Fantasy 10

I love Klonoa a lot, but damn it is really different than most videogame music I listen to. The changing time signatures making it hard trying to recognizing it in your head, but when you listen to it many times, it'll stay in your head as long as you remember it lol

Don't you think it's kind of strange? How sometimes when you wake up, you know you have a dream, but you can't remember it. Where do you suppose those dreams go? But there's one dream I remember very clearly, as if it was happening right now.

Okay, never played the game myself (only the sequel). But, DAYUM, did this track surprise me. This kicks ass. I've been missing out for years.

I like to come back to this theme every once in a while

Grew up with the ps1 and ps2. I didn't have this game back then, and yet this theme takes me back to that classic feeling of the ps1 soundchip and those nostalgic melodies and ambiances.

I love how it uses the leitmotif of the first level, but somber and MUCH more nervous. It's like even the music knows what's coming up and is trying to keep it's composure but failing.

You know, for the KING OF ALL NIGHTMARES, Nahatomb's boss theme is surprisingly funky.
